Say Hello To David Osman From The Link HC Medical Clinic

25 Jul 2017

Say hello to David Osman, the Services Development Manager at the Link HC Medical Clinic.
We caught up with David to discuss the new medical centre, which has opened inside Amcal Max on Lower Ground.

“We’re really excited to have opened a medical clinic here at The Glen. It’s going to provide customers with a massive amount of convenience. One of the greatest benefits of the medical clinic is that it’s located inside Amcal Max. Customers can receive medical treatment and advice from doctors and then easily pick up their medication from the pharmacy, plus receive medication management advice from a qualified pharmacist”; David explained.

There are three experienced General Practitioners (GPs) working at the centre: Dr Nirosha Athukorala, Dr Anandi Sivapragasam and Dr Helen Feng. All three have extensive medical experience including women’s and children’s health. In addition, customers have access to an orthodontics specialist, Dr Angelina Zea, who provides low cost orthodontics and can attend to braces and other conditions such as jaw pain, speech impediments, sleep apnoea and gum disease. The clinic continues to grow with plans to add a physio-therapist to the team, along with various allied health service professionals such as a podiatrist and psychologist.

The clinic also offers translation services for over 100 languages, and the in-house GPs speak a range of languages including Cantonese, Mandarin and Singhalese. Walk-in appointments are welcome and the team does their best to ensure there are time slots available to accommodate as many patients as possible.

“Link Health is a very community integrated organisation”, says David. “We’re not for profit and we’re not a private organisation trying to make money, we’re owned and operated by the community. The money the clinic earns is used to re-invest into other Link Health services and programs which directly help the community”.

The organisation offers grants to local community groups such as sporting clubs and schools, and Link Health also runs a number of health initiatives to support these groups. “We run the ‘Keep Kids Smiling’ program at local schools and provide free dental checks for children. We also run various health promotion services to support groups like the Monash Men’s Shed program and offer its members diabetes management training”. The list goes on.

So the next time you’re visiting The Glen and are feeling a little under the weather, visit the Glen Waverley General Practice (Link Health) inside Amcal Max and help support your local community.
