Why is The Glen being developed?
Inspired by the sophisticated and diverse local community, we’re evolving The Glen to meet the changing needs of our customers.
Undergoing a $460 million transformation we are creating ‘The New Glen’ – a local lifestyle and community destination where retail, dining and entertainment will deliver a premium customer experience.
The New Glen will elevate the customer experience to create a boutique destination where food, fashion and people come together.
How long will the development take?
Construction is underway and the development will be completed in stages to minimise disruption to our customers and our retailers.
The New Glen will come to fruition in a number of stages over three years, with the first stage unveiled in October 2017 and the transformation complete by early 2020.
What will be delivered in each of the stages to create The New Glen?
- Stage 1: Fresh Food Market Hall, opened in October 2017.
- Stage 2: Food Gallery, opened in March 2018.
- Stage 3: H&M, UNIQLO, MECCA plus more fashion and lifestyle, opened in October 2018.
- Stage 4: latest format David Jones, the premium fashion mall and the town square will open in mid-2019.

How big will The New Glen be?
The New Glen will be expanded to approximately 78,000 square metres of gross lettable area.
Is David Jones staying at The Glen?
Yes, David Jones will continue to call The Glen home. David Jones will be open throughout our development offering a boutique shopping experience on the Ground Floor.
As part of The New Glen, David Jones will open a latest format store in a new location anchoring our premium fashion mall.
Who are the new retailers as part of The New Glen?
Stage one, our fresh food market hall, will be anchored by a new Aldi, the latest format Woolworths, and a Coles supermarket, and will also feature a wide selection of boutique food retailers.
It’s premature to make any announcements about what brands we will welcome to The New Glen in future stages; however, The New Glen will attract international and Australian brands, signature dining and the best fresh food. We look forward to announcing new retailers as our development progresses.
Will parking be impacted during the development of The Glen?
During construction, we will work hard to minimise impact to our customers. While there will be some disruptions with a select number of our car spaces not available, all of our car parks open will be open as usual for our customers’ convenience.
We thank our customers for their patience while we are busy making changes to provide new and improved car parking at The Glen.
Customers can keep an eye on our Facebook page and website for regular updates on any changes to our car parks.
How can I find out more about what’s happening?
Our local community will continue to be an important part of our development.

Who is doing the construction?
We are working with appointed builder, Probuild.
I’ve noticed a number of stores and retailers have closed. Why?
Yes, there have already been changes at The Glen with stores relocating and a number of retailers closing; these changes are all part of closing off sections of the centre which will be transformed as part of our development.
Will The Glen’s iconic dome be impacted by the development?
We love our dome as much as our customers do. The dome has been incorporated into the design for The New Glen.
