COVID-19: Important Updates

15 Jul 2020

Centre Update: 28.07.2020
In line with Government direction, you must now wear a mask or face covering during your visit to our centre.

Help our community stop the spread of COVID-19 by keeping a healthy distance from each other.

And remember, if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, please do not enter the centre.

  • Face masks and coverings are now compulsory for everyone over the age of 12 when you’re out in public.
  • This excludes people who cannot wear a mask for a medical reason. You may be asked to provide documentation to support this to our team, or to bring that documentation along with you next time you visit us.

The safety and well-being of our customers, retailers, team and community continues to be our top priority. We’re taking extra precautions to ensure our centre is clean and hygienic every time you visit, including more frequent cleaning, encouraging healthy physical distancing and good hygiene.

We know the situation will continue to evolve and we can assure you we’re staying up to date with the latest government advice and are working hard to adapt and keep our customers, retailers, team and community informed.

We thank you for your support throughout this challenging time. Please continue to check our website or sign up to our mailing list for regular updates.

Please take care of yourselves, your families and friends during this uncertain time.

Centre Update: 15.07.2020

Our team has been notified that there is a confirmed case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in a team member who worked at David Jones. This team member last worked on 9 July 2020.

David Jones is assisting the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and we are making contact with each of our retailers as a precautionary measure.

We want to assure you, the safety and well-being of our customers, retailers and the broader community is always our priority and we are continuing to monitor and act upon recommendations from our federal and state health departments.

David Jones closed the store to carry out thorough sanitisation overnight and has reopened today with up-weighted cleaning in place. In line with David Jones' COVID-19 response plan, contact tracing has been completed to identify anyone who has come into close contact with the team member, with those identified now in self-isolation.

We have also increased our cleaning roster since learning of the case, with additional focus on specific areas including; balustrades, retailer door handles, vertical transport, toilets, sinks, change tables and parents’ rooms, customer entry and touch points, information screens, as well as communal furniture throughout the centre. This will continue for the foreseeable future.

At this stage, the advice from authorities is for anyone showing signs of an infectious disease, including fever, sweats or chills to see a doctor immediately.

Precautionary measures include washing hands and covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. For the latest health advice, and to stay informed, we recommend visiting health.gov.au.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact our centre management office on (03) 9814 6000.
