Current update: 6.08.2020

Following government direction, from today (Thursday 6 August), only essential stores and services will be open for you to shop for the products and services you need.

Essential stores that remain open include:

  • supermarkets
  • fresh food, including butchers, bakeries and groceries
  • pharmacies
  • Australia Post
  • maternity services
  • convenience stores and newsagents
  • banks
  • medical centres
  • dry cleaners
  • optometrists

For a full list and updated trading hours of individual stores, please head here. All our entrances will be open as normal for your convenience.

Our cafes, restaurants and Food Gallery retailers are open and trading too, serving takeaway and home delivery. For further details, please see our Takeaway & Delivery Guide.

All other retailers will temporarily close, however, selected stores may offer contactless click and collect and delivery services. For more information about contactless click and collect, please contact the retailer directly.

The health and safety of our customers, retailers, team and community is always our highest priority. Our safety measures remain in place, to ensure our centre is safe for those who rely on the service our retailers provide. These measures include:

  • Physical and digital signage reminding customers to keep a safe distance apart
  • Increased sanitisation and cleaning of all customer touch points and high traffic areas
  • Hand sanitiser available in-centre
  • Closures of mall furniture, playground and kids rides until further notice.

Please ensure that when you visit, you:
+ Plan your shopping trip and use the closest entry to the store you are visiting
+ Keep a healthy distance from other customers and staff
+ Ensure you wear a mask or face covering
+ Maintain good hygiene including washing your hands or using the hand sanitiser provided
+ Shop on your own where possible.

And remember, if you are unwell, please stay home.

Centre update: 28.07.2020

In line with Government direction, you must now wear a mask or face covering during your visit to our centre.

Help our community stop the spread of COVID-19 by keeping a healthy distance from each other.

And remember, if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, please do not enter the centre.

  • Face masks and coverings are now compulsory for everyone over the age of 12 when you’re out in public.
  • This excludes people who cannot wear a mask for a medical reason. You may be asked to provide documentation to support this to our team, or to bring that documentation along with you next time you visit us.

The safety and well-being of our customers, retailers, team and community continues to be our top priority. We’re taking extra precautions to ensure our centre is clean and hygienic every time you visit, including more frequent cleaning, encouraging healthy physical distancing and good hygiene.

Centre update: 17.07.2020

We’re changing our opening hours as we adjust to the unprecedented challenges presented by COVID-19.

From today (Friday 17 July), we’ll be open from 10am to 5pm every day. Please note that our supermarkets, major stores, pharmacies, medical centres and a selection of other specialty retailers may continue to trade beyond these hours. Please check here for individual store trading hours.

The safety and well-being of our customers, retailers, team and community continues to be our top priority. We’re taking extra precautions to ensure our centre is clean and hygienic every time you visit, including more frequent cleaning and encouraging healthy physical distancing and good hygiene.

Centre update: 8.07.2020

These are difficult times for our community and our priority is the health, safety and well-being of our customers, retailers, team members and the broader community.

Following advice from the Victorian Government and the return to Stage three restrictions, The Glen remains open for our local community to shop for essential and necessary products and services they need.

However, as part of this, the following stores and services will temporarily close from 11:59pm on 8 July for six weeks:

  • Beauty therapy
  • Day spas and massage
  • Nail bars
  • Laser clinics
  • Tanning and waxing salons

Our cafes, Food Gallery and dining operators can again remain open with takeaway and delivery services available – see the guide here. Unaffected stores and services remain open for your convenience, with physical distancing in place.

We also continue to have stringent health and safety measures in place including increased sanitisation and cleaning of high touch areas and heat-mapping to help our team identify any busy zones in our centre. We will continue to monitor and follow advice from the government to ensure we remain a safe place to visit.

Is The Glen open?
Yes, The Glen is open for our local community to shop for essential products and services they need seven days a week. However, note that all beauty services are temporarily closed as of 11:59pm on 8 July.

Our cafes and restaurants remain open for takeaway and deliveries while you can’t dine in until mid-August.

Shopping centres are classified by the Victorian Government as essential as they play a key role in the community giving customers access to fresh food and groceries, household items, medical services and supplies and financial services.

What are you doing to keep the community safe?
Our focus remains the health, well-being and safety of everyone in our centres - our customers, our retailers and our retailers.

Of course, we continue to have a range of stringent and protective measures in place including:

  • Physical and digital signage reminding customers to keep a safe distance apart
  • Window signage and floor decals for our retailers to assist with communicating physical distancing measures
  • Floor decals and physical distancing reference points in key areas
  • Increased sanitisation and cleaning of all customer touch points and high traffic areas
  • Hand sanitiser at all entrances
  • Heat-mapping to help our team identify any busy zones in our centre
  • Additional team members in-centre during peak periods, offering hand sanitiser and reminding customers of distancing guidelines
  • Automated, regular public announcements centre-wide, communicating distancing expectations
  • Security officers, in high visibility vests, are monitoring our centres, together with supporting local police to enforce social distancing requirements as appropriate
  • Zero tolerance on anti-social or disrespectful behaviour
  • Precautionary closure of mall furniture, playground and kids rides, until further notice.
