Halloween is the perfect excuse to get everyone together! Whether it’s your first time hosting a party or you're a seasoned host looking for inspiration, finding that perfect middle ground between spooky fun and refined elegance is the goal.

To help make hosting easier, food content creator and recipe developer Mandy Maiorano (@madeby.mandy) shows us how she’s throwing a sophisticated gathering that captures the magic of Halloween for the whole family.

By curating a crowd-pleasing menu and embracing subtle styling, you can create a gathering that is fun, welcoming, and effortlessly chic. Here is how to bring together a memorable, all-ages Halloween celebration using fresh ingredients and beautiful entertaining essentials.

Plan the menu

The food is the star of every Halloween party. A chic gathering calls for more than just pre-made bites and bowls of sweets. Get creative! Mandy’s tip for food is to have a fun selection of bites that everyone can snack on.

Mandy is serving up a delicious selection with just the right amount of yummy and spooky. From gourmet spooky chips and dip that prove Halloween entertaining can be effortless and elevated, to a grazing platter with a ghoulish touch and her homemade spooky juice, these crowd-pleasers are easy to make and even easier to enjoy. The best part? You can pick up all the ingredients in-centre from Woolworths.

And of course, no menu is complete without a sweet finish. Adding a spooky touch to simple desserts like cupcakes and cookies is a sure hit for both adults and kids.

Set the tablescape

Now that your menu is set, it’s time for the finishing touches. A stunning table setting can help anchor your party and solidify the spooky mood in your Halloween party.

One way to do this is by layering different textures. This can make the table feel polished while still appropriate for the spooky season. Imagine a silk table linen from Adairs with a lace runner from David Jones adorned with candles, pumpkins, and gourds of different sizes from TK Maxx. Spectacular!
